The face behind the logo

I am a registered social worker and the owner of Embrace your Humanity Windsor Counselling Services. I began my professional therapeutic journey in 2020 during the height of COVID as a new grad.

My therapeutic approach is eclectic. I draw on beliefs from Humanistic and Existentialist psychotherapy and incorporate therapeutic interventions from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). In my practice, I emphasize nervous system regulation, skill-building, and self-awareness.

In my early career, I began working with individuals that struggled with dependency. To my surprise, I largely ended up supporting individuals with their experience of either growing up around or being in a relationship with someone struggling with substance use.

In my experience as a new grad, I found myself questioning my own patterns and behaviours against the conversations I was having with clients.

After some self-assessment and therapy, I began to recgonize that I deeply aligned with the emotional and behavioural symptoms of codependency. I began working on myself as I was supporting others along their journey. Codependency, attachment wounds, self-trust, and emotional regulation became my niche for supporting clients through their own healing.

I believe that therapy is a collaborative journey, and I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients feel heard and supported. Whether you're seeking to understand yourself better, develop coping strategies, or navigate life's challenges, I'm here to walk alongside you.

What does it mean to have Humanistic and Existential beliefs in the practice of psychotherapy?

Therapy is client centered and present focused. We work with the client’s reality—their current perceptions and interpretations of themselves, other people, and the world. Our work is done with what is available in the moment.

I use honesty and truth to support clients in creating their Self; to make meaning of the human condition and their existence in the world.

We will explore concepts including freedom, choice, responsibility, and authenticity .

Our work together is aimed at creating a life worth living, one that aligns with your values, one that you are not waking up every day needing to cope from.

What do I do?

Today, I practice as a Clinical Social Worker at the University of Windsor in a group therapy coordinator role. I create and implement therapeutic group programs and workshops on topics related to emotional regulation, mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance, neurodiversity, and social anxiety, among others. I visit classrooms, attend outreach events, and speak on panels to discuss the barriers University students face and the options of support they have available to them.

In private practice, I offer support to couples looking to find connection again and to individuals looking to heal through codenpendency and attachment wounds. I have a particular passion for walking alongside women embracing who they are, working through self-loss, and living their most authentic life.

I design workshops and programs that help people untangle codependent patterns, build healthier boundaries, and reclaim power in relationships. My work centers on emotional clarity, self-trust, and balancing our perceptions, beliefs, and interpretations. Whether you're exploring your attachment style, breaking cycles of overgiving, or learning to say no, you're in the right place.
