FAQs

Do you bill directly to insurance?

Currently I accept payment before our session via cash or e-transfer and provide an invoice receipt. It is then the client's responisbility to submit this payment to their insurance company for reimbursement.

Is this talk therapy?

I do not believe in using only talk therapy as a therapeutic approach. Talk therapy serves a purpose, and for the way I practice, I believe clients will be more well-equipped in their every day lives to find practices, strategies, and skills that are going to work for them.

What happens in a therapy session?

In a typical session, you'll discuss your concerns and goals for that days session. I spend time listening to your stories to understand how you interact with your self, others, and the world; ask questions; and provide feedback to help you gain insights and develop strategies for change.

How many sessions do you offer?

Each clients needs are different and therefore the number of sessions vary based on your unique needs. Other times, this is based on financial accessibility and working with you to create a plan that fits your budget.

How long is each session?

Typically, basic session fees represent a 50-minute session. In my practice, I offer you the option of 30-minute phone check-in sessions, as well as longer 75-minute sessions adjusted against the regular session fee.

How do I choose the right therapist?

Finding the right therapist involves considering factors like their qualifications, experience, therapeutic approach, and your comfort level with them. Many therapists offer initial consultations to help you determine if they are the right fit. Unpopular opinion — time doesn’t heal all wounds. It’s the intentional way that we use that time that creates healing.
